Research has shown the benefits of inclusive classrooms to support and challenge all learners. While inclusion is considered a “best practice”, teachers may struggle to find models that work best for them. Inclusive learning environments should be ones in which all students can contribute and share perspectives while feeling equally valued and respected. While the state standards are the same across the board, it is critical to create learning experiences that are accessible to students on all levels. The big question, though, is- what can teachers do to ensure their inclusive classrooms are meeting the needs of all learners? Join us in talking through our current experiences, and find out how we use ideas based off of the 8 cultural forces and various thinking routines to ensure our own students feel valued and respected each and every day.
